Solus Ceramics are able to offer a wide range of tile cutting and finishing services. In addition to water jet cutting services and the ability to bullnose and cut step treads into almost any tile, recent investment in the pioneering Pragma SECO 701 machine, designed to cut tiles into a range of bespoke sizes, adds design options to any project. It dramatically increases accuracy and precision whilst offering architects, designers and contractors uniquely cut tiles at a cost-effective price.
The multi-blade machine can cut tiles of up to 700mm in width and 1,200mm in length. The machine can hold up to 25 blades at any one time and pumps cooling water onto the blades as they cut; ensuring breakages and chipping are prevented. All types of tiles can be cut, including porcelain, ceramic and composite stone.
Solus Ceramics was the first UK tile company to procure a Pragma SECO 701, and its ability to accurately cut an extensive range of sizes means that architects and designers can be provided with a greater range of tile choices. It also makes it far more commercially viable to use non-standard sizes or sizes that may have previously been expensive to cut.
In 2015 Solus Ceramics invested in their second more advanced cutting machine. The new model improves the scope and scale of Solus Ceramics’ tile cutting service, meaning the company can provide a larger variety of bespoke shapes and sizes, can cut larger tiles and process material at a higher volume. A brand new waste water recycling system also reduces the environmental impact of the device.
