Quadrant Design is crowned the winner of Solus’ Mosaic Competition

13th November 2019

Quadrant Design has been revealed as the winner of Solus’ fun-filled challenge to find the most creative and artistic architectural and design team in the UK.

Twelve practices secured a place in the finals of the Mosaic Competition, held at the company’s Clerkenwell Showroom, after qualifying in regional heats throughout 2019.

They were tasked with creating eye-catching and unique designs inspired by the River Thames, using multi-coloured mosaic tiles.

The winning entry featured a bird’s eye view of a team of five people rowing along the famous river while other creations included the iconic Shard building, Tilburry Docks and a pair of swans.

After emerging victorious from a closely fought contest, Quadrant Design was awarded a fabulous weekend break to Treviso.

Solus Commercial Director Steve Baker said: “The mosaic contest was launched at the start of 2019 and the regional heats proved extremely popular – and competitive! The final was no different and everyone who entered took it pretty seriously which resulted in some incredibly artistic designs.

“The main aim was to have a bit of fun and engage with architects and designers in a light-hearted manner which I think everyone who attended would agree was certainly achieved. I’d like to thank all of those who took the time to travel to our flagship Clerkenwell Showroom for the contest and to congratulate Quadrant Design on its winning entry.”

Other teams in the finals of the contest include A-ND Design Studio, IBI Group, Ryder Architecture, Michael Laird Architects, MAS, Harrison Design, Farrell and Clark, The Narrative, Studio RHE, WISH London and Afroditi Krassa.
