Immersing guests into “something out of the ordinary,” Benihana Glasgow offers a modern interpretation of the iconic restaurant brand with a fresh new interior envisioned by award winning studio DesignLSM. Photography by CADZOW PELOSI

Outcome
Located in the heart of Glasgow, Benihana is the first new UK based site in more than 20 years, offering guests an exciting teppanyaki-style dining experience. Accommodating over 100 guests and featuring nine teppan tables, visitors can enjoy a flamboyant and entertaining dining experience with a fast-paced performance of chopping and juggling by their own chef.
The contemporary restaurant was designed by DesignLSM and the team were tasked with creating a new concept that reflects the ethos and energy of the brand. The design combines luxurious Japanese aesthetics with a modern palette of textures and materials.
Solus worked closely with DesignLSM to select tiles that effortlessly fit with the brands vision. Using tiles from the Journey range, the designers worked with fabricators to create a bespoke central flooring that adds character to the restaurant with its standout design. The stone-effect tiles feature light-coloured vein markings, effortlessly complementing the minimal palette and authentic materials used throughout the restaurant.
