Stockton on Tees has a brand new addition to its town centre and riverside – the five storey Hampton by Hilton Hotel - designed by Newcastle based Ward Robinson.

Ward Robinson was commissioned to design a contemporary and bespoke interior to the open plan ground floor public spaces and five floors of guest bedrooms, working to Hampton by Hilton brand standards.

The 128 bed hotel features a bright and open entrance reception area with a dramatic glass lightfitting highlighting the impressive double-height space. Directly adjacent to the reception is the bar area which flows through into dining zones, lounge spaces and a guest business centre.

The carefully considered use of accent colours and lighting link the various zones together creating a cohesive and seamless design throughout. All of the zones include a variety of seating styles to cater for a range of guests and group sizes as well as create visual diversity across the space.

The thoughtful selection of materials and details have incorporated nods towards the hotel’s locality, as requested by the client, Stockton Borough Council.

Reviews left by some of the hotels first guests described the space as ‘modern, airy and comfortable’, commenting that the hotel has been fitted out to a very high standard.
