Outcome
Mediating between the historic context of Soho Square and the new Crossrail development at Tottenham Court Road, 21 Soho Square is very much seen as a gateway into Soho.
A sympathetic refurbishment and extension to a Grade II listed Regency townhouse and a former warehouse, the development delivers 27,000 sqft of characterful working space.
The new design sought to achieve a distinctive expression for the two buildings which involved increasing the warehouse space with additional floors whilst retaining and restoring the features of the townhouse.
This is nowhere more evident than in the charming reception area, which gracefully evokes the grandiose Regency style in a fresh and modern way.
Solus supplied Carrera and Nero Marquinia marble, which was fabricated into elegant hexagon style mosaics. Set against wood paneling the two colours form an evocative geometric floor design.
