Tiles Used

1800m2 of grey large format tiles from the Tumulus 1 range were supplied along with bespoke step treads featuring k-grip infils.

Outcome

Completed in 2013, the Derby City Council House is one of Solus’ most expansive public sector projects.

In total more than 4500m2 of tiles were supplied to the £30m redevelopment, which was designed by architects at Corstophine + Wright in Warwick.

Solus were specified to supply tiling material to an open plan public reception, specially designed bespoke steps featuring corundum step treads and all of the tiles in restrooms and toilet
facilities.

Staying on trend with tile selection, the architects chose a super large formatflooring tile for the reception area and toilets, which complimented the proportions of the vast environment.

The tiles were selected from the Tumulus 1 range in a contemporary chalky grey in a 600x1200m2 size and were fitted to about 2000m2 of the development. The range is one of Solus\ most popular products and is available in nine rich natural colours.

These large format tiles were also used in the toilets and were complemented with a natural cream coloured wall tile from the Iconic range,.
