Description
East 59th is a New York style Rooftop Bar & Grill in Leeds. During the day it's a celebration of contemporary American dining, and in the evening it's a sophisticated Manhattan-style rooftop bar with top quality drinks and cocktails.
Tiles Used
Concrete style floor tiles from the Format range and wall tiles from the interiors range.
Outcome
Opened in 2017, East 59th is a 5,400sq ft restaurant within the £165m Victoria Gate development in Leeds. The eatery is the latest opening by D&D London, which launched its third Leeds venue Issho, a rooftop Japanese restaurant and bar earlier in the same year.
Both East 59th and Issho were brought to life by the creative team at Design LSM, and Solus were thrilled to collaborate with the team on both ventures.
East 59th has a distinctive New York theme, and has been named after the street in the Big Apple where you can find another D&D venue, Guastavino’s.
Perfect for a quick business lunch and ideally located for city shoppers in the high-end Victoria gate development, the menu at East 59th focuses on the eclectic traditions of New York dining, with dishes served from the restaurant’s open kitchen, using top quality produce to create a relaxed, contemporary dining experience.
Solus supplied concrete effect floor tiles from the Format range to the main restaurant dining room, as well as to the various corridors and walkways linking the space to the restrooms. On the bar front, tiles from the Arcadian range provide a modern interpretation of a typical ‘American Diner’ style.
Finally the chic, art deco themed bathrooms feature simple black and white tiles from the Interiors range, creating a stylish ‘Gatsby’ aesthetic.
