Description
A project that shows that same tile used throughout is almost unheard of, so Edgbaston Priory Club is an amazing example of how continuity can work so well to produce a high end and luxurious atmosphere.
Tiles Used
Tiles from the versatile and luxurious Travertine 1 range were supplied in a number of sizes and alternative finishes.
Outcome
Following a £12m redevelopment, The Edgbaston Priory Club, which is one of the most prestigious racquet and leisure clubs in the UK, finally opened the doors to it’s new facilities in June 2013.
The private members club received a comprehensive makeover which included a brand new fitness suite, exercise studio, bar, bistro and changing facilities.
Solus supplied extensive quantities of floor and wall tiles throughout the Birmingham based club in the main reception and circulation area, the bar counter front, changing rooms walls and floors, wet area changing rooms and stairways.
Tiles from the Travertine 1 range were chosen in a light grey colour and used in all areas. Most of the flooring areas were fixed with varying sized tiles in a matt finish, creating a unique staggered flooring pattern.
In the changing rooms numerous finishes such as gloss and riven were mixed together to create interesting textures. Finally riven tiles were used in the wet areas due to their excellent anti slip properties.
