Description
Large hexagons were used to excellent effect at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen restaurant in Brighton. The colours and style evoke a nostalgic charm yet the shaped and laying style is distinctly modern.
Tiles Used
Hexagon format tiles from the Honeycomb range were used.
Outcome
Taking centre stage at Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Brighton Solus’ hexagon shaped tiles are proving to be one of the most exciting tiling trends.
The beautiful tiles, which were selected in three colours, were laid on the floor in large parts of the main restaurant area and also on a show stopping bar front.
Blue, cream and white tiles were mixed in irregular patterns to create a modern and abstract design. Honeycomb, which was developed to meet demand for a hexagonal shaped tile range, is ideally suited to both floor and wall applications and is available in 15 colours, 4 modular shapes and two versatile sizes.
In this instance a dark grey grout was utilised to emphasise the unique hexagon tiles, which is often referred to as ‘nature’s perfect shape’ due to their appearance in beehives, flowers and snowflakes.
The shape of the tiles also allowed the designer to create infinite uninterrupted laying patterns and create colourful, flowing spaces.
