Outcome
Crowned the ‘Best Place to Live’ by the Sunday Times in 2018, the vibrant and culture-rich city of York is renowned for its highly aspirational and ever-evolving architectural scene.
A UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, it is boldly embracing the future while proudly displaying its past, with all new developments sensitively and sustainably designed to honour their historic surroundings.
Hudson Quarter, which comprises 127 apartments across three blocks, is a prime example of this emerging ethos, embracing contemporary design concepts while adhering to the strict planning regulations that govern its enviable position next to the medieval City Wall.
Fuse Studios led on the architectural and interior design elements of the high-end project, choosing Solus’ pearly Etterby tiles to compose distinctive statement walls in the bathrooms and en-suites, their glossy undulating surface culminating in an invigorating composition.
The floors and remaining walls, along with the interior of the shower cubicles, are bedecked with large scale Lorem tiles in creamy tones, their presence serving to enhance Etterby’s herringbone design. Meanwhile, Solus’ concrete-effect Forum tiles provide a gentle reminder of York’s industrial past in the lobbies.
