Outcome
In September 2013, the Plymouth Theatre Royal opened its doors to a newly refurbished building, following a £7 million regeneration project.
The project saw a complete refurbishment of the Front of House areas of the Theatre including; new cladding and glazing, an extended foyer, a new function area with a balcony, a new cafe including exterior seating and a new restaurant with a showcase kitchen.
Solus supplied 600x600mm tiles from the practical Monolith range, which were used throughout the foyer. Predominately the contractors decided upon a black shade, however in some areas, such as ramped access ways, they opted for a lighter shade of tile. This alternating use of colour helped to distinguish the gentle gradient of the raised access ways.
Inspired by the mottled textures of concrete, Monolith is a modern range that provides a crisp aesthetic, perfect for a regeneration project that requires a fresh new look.
