Description
Be inspired by this amazing outdoor pool project overlooking a gorgeous Devon seaside resort. The tiles were chosen to emulate the deep marine blue colours the clients had observed while visiting islands in the Indian Ocean.

Outcome
August 2011 saw the completion of the Golf House residential project in South Devon featuring an award winning infinity swimming pool and external paved entertainment area with views to the beautiful natural harbour at Dartmouth.
The design brief tasked to Solus for the ground breaking curved pool tank was for an equally innovative product to emulate the deep marine blue colours the clients had observed while visiting islands in the Indian Ocean,
To achieve the desired effect, Solus’ new recycled agglomerate stone/glass range Eco Stone was used for the pool tank, in a polished finish to reflect as much natural light as possible through the water.
Now available in 39 colours and 9 standard sizes this amazing range of tiles contains up to 78% recycled material (depending on colour). Bespoke cut 100x600x6.6mm tiles were laid vertically and stagger bonded on the walls to accommodate the curves while standard sized 300x600x6.6mm tiles were laid on the pool floor.
The tiling was then finished with a matching blue grout to create a seamless arc of tropical blue when viewed from the hillside house above.
