Outcome

With 454 bedrooms spread across 31 floors, urbanest Vauxhall offers students in London high specification accommodation in one of the most vibrant and dynamic parts of the city.

Michaelis Boyd Associates designed the contemporary accommodation and was tasked with creating cohesive and modern communal spaces that reflect both the urbanest Vauxhall brand and its students.

Tiles from Solus’ Raw range were used within the first-floor mezzanine, creating a contemporary communal space. Resembling the textures of real concrete, the distinctive tiles create a stylish and bold aesthetic, whilst also providing a practical and hard-wearing surface.

Tim Boyd, Architect at Michaelis Boyd Associates, commented: “It was important that we created a stylish and relaxed environment, whilst also ensuring it was both practical and durable for the student population.
“We selected Solus’ Raw range for its excellent quality and appealing aesthetic. The range truly complements the overall design of the building. As well as the stunning appearance, the tiles provide a hard-wearing surface, which was an important factor when choosing the materials for communal spaces with large footfall.”
