Following on from Clerkenwell Design Week 2019, Solus had its eyes firmly set on the Design Week Awards 2019, where commercial branding and interior design agency BusbyWebb was nominated for the Retail Interior Award for Solus Clerkenwell.
A hugely competitive category with the likes of Virgin Megastore and Johnnie Walker Madrid also on the shortlist, it was a nerve-wracking night for both the design team and everyone at Solus while they awaited the result.
‘Creating the best showroom in Clerkenwell’ was always an ambitious brief, but BusbyWebb hit the nail on the head with Solus Clerkenwell, and scooped the award.
Director of Branding at BusbyWebb Nick Wills said: “I think what sets Solus Clerkenwell apart is how we designed it from the perspective of the designers and architects that would use the space – for example allowing tiles to be viewed under different light temperatures as well as providing formal and informal spaces to sit and discuss projects.
“It is more of a collaborative studio than a showroom. We also incorporated touches normally associated with hospitality.”
The award tops off a fantastic first year for Solus Clerkenwell, firmly cementing the company’s position as one of the best architectural tile showrooms in the industry.
