Iris Ceramica Group produce the world’s first ceramic slab made from green hydrogen
Iris Ceramica Group have created the very first 4D technical ceramic slab in the world to be produced using a combination green hydrogen and natural gas.

A unique and pioneering project with world-wide scope that offers new prospects for hard-to-abate manufacturing, showing that it can be done.”
Mirage turns production waste into a resource
Mirage have a continually evolving production process and have developed a method of increasing the percentage of material recovered from production waste. In the regeneration process, they mix 39.8% virgin raw materials with 48.6% raw process waste and 11.6% of post-firing waste, adding up to a total of 60.2% pre-consumer recycled material.
Florim demonstrates it meets the highest levels of social and environmental performance through B Corp certification
To receive this prestigious accolade, Florim needed to prove that it was not only driven by the desire to make a profit, but also to positively contribute to the future of the planet and the health and wellbeing of the communities which surround its factories.
Companies that are awarded B Corp status are required to demonstrate that they fully embrace a regenerative business model, as opposed to an extractive one, where tangible actions are reflected in economic, social, and environmental improvements. Just 3% of businesses that apply for the certification pass the rigorous verification process, putting Florim among the world’s most environmentally evolved companies.
Casalgrande Padana embodies the spirit of collaboration
Casalgrande Padana’s support for cultural initiatives and events reflects its commitment to community development and its belief in the importance of promoting cultural heritage and artistic expression. The company collaborated with Kengo Kuma and Daniel Libeskind to produce Casalgrande Ceramic Cloud and The Crown, two permanent installations on roundabouts near the Casalgrande Padana headquarters.

DTS is an experimentation laboratory that has been part of Refin's history for many years. They have collaborated with celebrated architects, designers, and artists, such as Vivienne Westwood, to integrate materiality and reimagine surfaces in new ways. In 2024, we recreated the Laboratory in our Clerkenwell Showroom.

Spolia is a groundbreaking terrazzo range made in the UK that is revolutionising the construction industry’s approach to waste. In addition to a range of 21 standard colours, a bespoke service allows you to incorporate waste materials from their project sites into one-of-a-kind terrazzo creations, creating a narrative of reuse and revitalisation. The result is a product that is entirely unique to that building, with each speck within the tile telling a story of the history and materiality of the site.
