Solus cements Building Brum partnership with debut sponsorship event

9th September 2020

Solus is cementing its new partnership with Building Brum, the city’s largest built environment networking platform, by sponsoring the eagerly anticipated webinar, Digbeth: The Future is Creative.

The Birmingham-based company, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of commercial floor and wall tiles, recently announced its collaboration with the pioneering organisation which aims to put the city’s regeneration firmly on the map.

Its debut sponsorship event will examine Digbeth’s revitalisation as a preeminent independent and industrious creative and cultural quarter, exploring how the area’s rich past will help to shape its future.

Planning and development consultancy Turley, property investor and developer Oval and architectural and design practice Studio Egret West will form the panel.

They will discuss topics including place-making, health and well-being, heritage and inclusive growth, during the virtual session at 4.30pm on Thursday, September 24.

Solus Area Sales Manager Lee Simmonds, who covers the West Midlands, said: “Digbeth is currently undergoing a major transformation which will see it completely revamped, ready to face the challenges of an exciting new era.

“There is already much hype surrounding the area, which was recently hailed ‘the coolest neighbourhood in Britain’ by the Sunday Times, thanks to the inspirational redevelopment of the iconic Custard Factory.

“The promise of billions of pounds of additional investment through the ‘Big City Masterplan’ will only serve to build on previous achievements and Solus is keen to play a part in the next phase of its metamorphosis. We are delighted to be sponsoring the Digbeth: The Future is Creative webinar which is sure to be an interesting and insightful debate.”

Building Brum is a programme of cross-disciplinary events looking at different aspects of the city’s built environment. It counts industry leaders including RICS, ICE, CIOB, RTPI, RIBA, NFB, CIAT, SBID, CIBSI, Landscape Institute, British Institute of Interior Design and Institution of Structural Engineers among its membership.
