Meet the team: Lauren Riley, London Area Sales Manager

We’re delighted to welcome Lauren Riley to the London Sales Team. Lauren has many years of experience in the A&D sector having spent most of her career working for market leading manufacturers. Conleth Buckley, the editor of Quarter magazine, interviewed Lauren to get to know her better.

Conleth

How did you come to work at Solus?

Lauren

Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with the Solus London team through industry events and joint projects. I’ve always admired how Solus has evolved and strengthened its reputation within the A+D community and Clerkenwell. When the chance to join the London team came up, I jumped at it!

Conleth

What are you most proud of achieving in your career so far?

Lauren

I’ve spent over 20 years in the A+D industry and have loved every step of the journey. Exploring different sectors has allowed me to build a network of amazing clients and peers. Success in this industry is all about relationships - connecting with people and creating mutually beneficial opportunities is something I’m really proud of. I think my network, and the trust and collaboration it represents, is my greatest achievement.

Conleth

What do you like to do outside of work?

Lauren

I live in East London, right in the heart of a creative and diverse community. It’s an inspiring place to be, and I love soaking up the cultural life of the city – whether it’s attending gigs, exhibitions or checking out new trends in fashion and design.

Conleth

What are you currently reading/watching/listening to?

Lauren

I’ve just finished watching American Primeval, which I loved! I’m also a big film lover, so I’m always on the lookout for something new and interesting to watch. When it comes to music, I listen to pretty much everything but lately I’ve been really into Berlioz and JMSN.

Conleth

What inspires and motivates you?

Lauren

People are my biggest inspiration. Everyone has a story, and the more you learn about others, the more you grow. I’m especially inspired by the creativity and innovation within the design community. I’m a big believer in self-improvement and the idea that we can always evolve, personally and professionally.

Conleth

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

Lauren

Say yes to everything! Embracing new opportunities and experiences has been so valuable in helping me grow and adapt over the years.

Conleth

What are you most excited about at Solus?

Lauren

After spending a long tenure at my previous company, I’ve had the chance to explore different roles in the industry over the past few years, which has been incredibly rewarding. I’m now excited to bring my experience into a fresh challenge at Solus. Having worked in furniture and carpets, I’m looking forward to diving into the world of tiles. The team here is fantastic, the brand has a strong reputation, and I’m particularly excited about the sustainability conversations Solus is leading in the design community. It’s great to be part of something that shaping the future of the industry.
